Lake Wangary Cemetery, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia

Lake Wangary Cemetery

On 11 May 1882, sections 305 and 468 in the Hundred of Lake Wangary were proclaimed Cemetery Reserves. Section 305 was granted in trust for cemetery purposes. The cemetery was used until the early 1900s. In 1984 the cemetery area was resurveyed forming the present cemetery.

Below are SOME of the headstones of the Wangary Cemetery. In an attempt to save as much space as possible and increase the speed of downloading, only part of the stone is displayed. Flinders Ranges Research has a full photograph of each of these, and many others as well.
